About the event
Looking for a way to give back to your community? Join us for our volunteer caregiver day and vegan potluck at the sanctuary! With over 35 residents, we rely on the support of our community to keep things running smoothly. By signing up for multiple days and carpooling with a friend, you can make an even bigger impact!
And don't forget to bring your favorite vegan dish to share at the potluck. We encourage you to bring a recipe card to share with others and indicate any allergens. We'll provide reusable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils to reduce waste. Thank you for your help and we look forward to seeing you there!
Sanctuary Rules
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our sanctuary! We greatly appreciate your willingness to help. However, before you begin, we would like to share some important information to ensure that your experience is enjoyable and respectful to our residents.
- To get started, please sign our new digital waiver by clicking this link. This will help expedite the process and eliminate the need for paper waivers. If you are unable to sign the waiver beforehand, don't worry - there will be an opportunity to do so when you arrive at the sanctuary.
- As their caregivers, the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents are our top priority. We kindly ask that you keep this in mind when interacting with them.
- Please note that interactions with our residents are not guaranteed, as the sanctuary is not a petting zoo. We respect the wishes of our residents, and they are not obligated to engage with anyone if they are not comfortable.
- If a resident walks away from you, please do not pursue them. We strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for our residents, and we respect their body language and personal space.
Thank you again for your interest in volunteering at our sanctuary. We look forward to working with you!
Recommended supplies
Important Notice: Please refrain from bringing any food items that contain animal products to the premises, as it would be respectful towards our residents. If you have any questions about veganism, we're more than happy to help you out. Please avoid bringing any kind of food into the animal enclosures to ensure their safety as well as yours.
We recommend that you carry a water bottle with you during your visit. Also, it's advisable to wear/bring sunblock and bug spray, just in case. We suggest that you wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, especially pants, and closed-toed shoes, preferably boots.
Parking and communication
To get to the sanctuary, please go through the two gates and park your vehicle inside the sanctuary. Don't park in the grass on the side of the road. If you have specific needs or accommodations, please let us know in advance, and we will make the necessary arrangements for you.
