Trinity was found in a grocery store parking lot in Knoxville, TN in June 2019. Thanks to Sue K., a TN local animal advocate, she was safely captured and transported all the way to our sanctuary.
Our dear friend and former board member, Jessica S., named her after the fierce female lead role in the movie The Matrix.
Trinity has always been a tough and resilient lady. Her vocal, curious, and strong-willed personality has kept her at the top of the pecking order. She originally lived with a kind, gentle, and giant rooster named Reiji. After his passing in late 2020, we rescued a sweet and unassuming hen named Phoenix, who turned out to be a great match for her.
Amazingly, after Reiji’s passing, we even heard Trinity make a hen-version of a rooster’s crow! Over the years, as some of our beloved chickens passed, we were able to merge her flock with that of Radtkey and Iris West. In this new flock of four, Trinity remains the leader.
Surrounded by her flock and safe from harm, she now spends her days enjoying the life every chicken deserves, pecking through soil, basking in the sun, taking dust baths, and exploring her environment freely.
Because of our supporters, Trinity and her flock have found lasting safety, a place where they’re free to simply be, without fear or exploitation.
