Welcome Larry and Earl!

By now, you may have heard about our newest residents, Larry and Earl. These lovable goats found their way to Farm of the Free through our dear friend of the sanctuary, actress Tricia Helfer.

Earl was discovered unhoused and foraging in a dumpster at a Waffle House in Fairburn, GA. The manager kindly took him home, cared for him for several weeks, and then worked to find him a safe new place to land.

Larry was born on a goat farm, where male goats in the commercial dairy industry are often seen as having little value because they do not produce milk. Too often, they are killed young or sent to slaughter.

Larry and Earl both had difficult beginnings, but thanks to Tricia’s compassion, they were given a second chance at life. Though Tricia is moving back to Los Angeles and wishes she could bring her boys with her, she made the loving decision to leave them where they can continue to be cared for and cherished right here in Good Hope. Farm of the Free is deeply honored to welcome Larry and Earl into their forever home.

"My love for my animal family is immense...it's my whole heart, so when I found myself in the situation of needing to move back to Los Angeles and to be out of the country a lot for my work, it was proving harder and harder to care for my sweet Larry and Earl by myself.  I have followed and donated to FOTF since first being introduced to them in November of 2022, and as I got to know them more, I have been impressed with their care and dedication to their animal family.  I wanted to bring the boys with me to Los Angeles, but I also wanted to do the right thing for them, and that was staying in Georgia, surrounded by loving caretakers and furry friends.  While my soul is going to desperately miss being with my boys every day, the thought of them making friends with Pippin, Duke, and Sampson and the rest of the brood fills me with absolute joy.

And I will be visiting...often!"
