Larry was born on a goat farm. In the commercial dairy farm industry, male goats are considered byproducts, as they do not produce milk. Since they are of no value to the goat farmers, they are generally killed early or sold to slaughterhouses for meat.
After being rescued, Larry eventually ended up in the loving care of actress and friend of Farm of the Free, Tricia Helfer.
"My love for my animal family is immense...it's my whole heart, so when I found myself in the situation of needing to move back to Los Angeles and to be out of the country a lot for my work, it was proving harder and harder to care for my sweet Larry and Earl by myself. I wanted to bring the boys with me to Los Angeles, but I also wanted to do the right thing for them, and that was staying in Georgia, surrounded by loving caretakers and furry friends. While my soul is going to desperately miss being with my boys every day, the thought of them making friends with Pippin and Duke and Sampson and the rest of the brood fills me with absolute joy. And I will be visiting...often!" - Tricia
With Tricia's help, Farm of the Free will warmly care for Larry and his life companion, Earl. We're happy to report they are getting along splendidly with Pippin and Duke.
