Sublime

Updated: Mar 24

Sublime, a beloved member of her flock, was abandoned at FOTF with her group as young chicks soon after Easter in 2022. At the time, we didn’t have predator-proof housing or a coop to accomodate them. We jumped into action and kicked off a fundraiser campaign! While working toward our goal, volunteer, Julia and her mom, Anne, a former staff caregiver, took the chicks into their home and cared for them with great love.

Sublime was named by longtime supporters Raine and Madison, a mother-daughter duo who participated in the naming fundraiser by becoming one of the first five monthly donors.

Sublime is an active and inquisitive girl. She’s often seen exploring, pecking, and scratching the ground, always investigating new sights and sounds. She prefers to stay close to her flock, drawing comfort from the safety and companionship they offer. Like many chickens, she’s a clever problem-solver who can recognize many familiar faces, whether human or feathered.

Notably, from the very start, Sublime and her flock mates have faced the world as one since arriving here. In a world where animals are so often denied even the basic bond of family and friends, their story stands apart, a living memory of what’s possible when love is allowed to remain whole. In a sanctuary, moments like these are not luck. They are built with care, protected with purpose, and treasured with reverence. Because every soul deserves respect, protection, and the freedom to live as they choose.
