Integrity

Updated: Mar 24

Integrity, a treasured flock member, was abandoned at FOTF with her group as baby chicks just after Easter in 2022. Their sudden arrival presented some challenges, as the sanctuary didn’t yet have a predator-proof enclosure or coop they needed to be safe.

Fortunately, we launched a fundraiser to meet their needs, and supports really stepped up. Like our amazing volunteer, Julia, and her mother, Anne, who was formerly a caregiver at FOTF, both graciously cared for the chicks at their home.

Integrity was named by Matthew H. and his family, longtime supporters of FOTF who participated in the naming fundraiser.

In addition to naming Integrity, they also gave Philly his name. We remain deeply grateful to them for their support and generosity.

Known for her bravery and curiosity, Integrity is the social butterfly of her group. She’s one of the first to approach when someone enters the enclosure, eager to investigate new people and whatever they might be carrying. She’s friendly, trusting, and always full of wonder.

A key point to remember is that from the day they made it to FOTF, Integrity and her flock mates have never been apart, and therefore have a strong connection, which is a luxury and a rare opportunity for chickens.
